HMS Minotaur was my father’s ship at the Battle of Jutland..
My father was Petty Officer Harry Charles Brown and he fought
as a gunner on that ship.
HMS Minotaur formed part of the “2nd Cruiser squadron deployed to the
Port side of the main Battle Fleet. The 1st Cruiser Squadron deployed to the starboard side
came into direct contact with units of the enemy heavy battle fleetand Minotaur’s sister ships
HMS Warrior and HMS Black Prince were both sunk with heavy loss of life.
